Pontotoc Wellness Center Manager to be Honored by Women’s Basketball Hall

PONTOTOC, Miss—Jeanie Dale, manager of North Mississippi Medical Center’s Pontotoc Wellness Center, will be among the honorees recognized at an induction ceremony on June 9 by the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn.

In addition to inducting the seven member class of 2018, the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame will recognize the Women’s Professional Basketball League (WBL) for their contributions to the game with a display at the Hall entitled “Trailblazers of the Game.” The WBL was the first professional women’s basketball league in the United States, playing three seasons from 1978 to 1981.

Among the players was Dale, who played collegiately at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, then played one season with the WBL’s St. Louis Streak. She will join several of her Streak teammates and other WBL players at the ceremony.
