Timms Named for DAISY Award
TUPELO, Miss.—Registered nurse Marley Timms of the Resource Pool recently received North Mississippi Medical Center’s DAISY Award for November.
A 2011 graduate of Belmont High School, Timms earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Mississippi University for Women. She joined the NMMC staff in June 2016, working on 4 Central until transferring to the Resource Pool this November. She resides in Saltillo.
Timms was nominated by the daughter of an 89-year-old patient. “Marley took the time to listen to Mother, visit and explain things to her. Even though Mother would ask the same question over and over, she always just answered again,” the daughter wrote. “She treated mother with great respect and in my opinion went beyond just her job. Mother felt like she had a friend and trusted her… she showed true compassion and respect. I felt like she always had Mother’s and our best interest at heart. She is the epitome of what a nurse should be and what NMMC should want.”
Timms received a certificate, a DAISY Award pin, a bouquet donated by Bishop’s Flower Shop and a hand-carved stone sculpture titled A Healer’s Touch.
The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary compassionate and skillful care given by nurses every day. For more information, call (662) 377-3431 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
