Baldwyn Nursing Facility Honors Dean as Outstanding Employee

BALDWYN, Miss.—Debbie Dean, CLPN, has been selected by her peers as Baldwyn Nursing Facility’s January Employee of the Month.
Dean has worked at North Mississippi Health Services for 20 years, the last 10 at Baldwyn Nursing Facility. She graduated from Baldwyn High School in 1972 and earned her associate degree in nursing from Itawamba Community College in 1984. She also worked at Sanctuary Hospice House for three years.
Dean was nominated by a resident’s family member who states, “She is one of the best. She goes out of her way to help her patients and does extra work every day she is here.”
“My favorite part of my job is giving my patients emotional, mental and physical care. I love encouraging them and communicating with their family members,” Dean said. “I also try to show work ethics to my fellow employees by never saying, ‘I haven’t got time.’”
She and her husband, Matt Dean (“Pop”), have four daughters, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is a member of East Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Baldwyn.
