Darla Heath Named Employee of the Quarter at NMMC-Pontotoc
PONTOTOC, Miss.—Darla Heath, Education and Employee Health nurse, was recently named Employee of the Quarter at North Mississippi Medical Center-Pontotoc.
Heath joined NMMC-Pontotoc in 2002. She is a graduate of South Pontotoc High School and Itawamba Community College, earning an associate degree in nursing. She is an American Heart Association instructor and advisory board member of Pontotoc Career and Technology Center.
“I love to help people and I love to teach people how to do new things,” Heath said when asked what she loves most about her job.
“Darla demonstrates pride and commitment to the organization,” one coworker wrote in her nomination. “She consistently serves others in ways that reflect the values of NMHS; always willing to lend a helping hand, volunteers to assist and is always positive.”
“With an array of varied responsibilities, Darla performs all in a very safe, confidential and professional manner consistently,” another coworker wrote. “She pays attention to detail and highlights variances from the norm to ensure anticipated outcomes are achieved. She listens and takes time to explain and advise customers to build confidence in our services.”
She and her husband Paul have been married for 25 years. They have three children—22-year-old son Taylor, 19-year-old daughter Lauren Raye and 14-year-old daughter Lyndsey Beth. She attends Carey Springs Baptist Church.
In her spare time, Heath enjoys spending quality time with her family, time outdoors and vacationing in the mountains.
