Dr. Lane Joins NMMC Rehabilitation InstituteDr. Michael Lane

TUPELO, Miss.—Physical medicine and rehabilitation physician Michael Lane, M.D., has joined the medical staff of North Mississippi Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Institute.

Dr. Lane comes to Tupelo from Johnston Willis Rehabilitation Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, where he has worked since 2016. He previously served as medical director of the Rehabilitation Institute of Southwest Louisiana in Lake Charles from 2010-2016. Prior to that, he worked at rehabilitation facilities in Virginia, Texas and Indiana.

Dr. Lane received his bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville in 1988 and earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center of Brooklyn in 1999. He completed an internship with New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens in 2000 and residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in physical medicine and rehabilitation in 2003. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

The NMMC Rehabilitation Institute is a 28-bed inpatient unit staffed by rehabilitation professionals who provide three to five hours of intensive therapy daily to help patients reach their individual goals. The unit is staffed by physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, rehabilitation nurses, social workers and case managers.
