Jessica Kitchens Named Employee of the Quarter at NMMC-Pontotoc
PONTOTOC, Miss.—Jessica Kitchens, medical technologist in the Pathology Department, has been named Employee of the Quarter for North Mississippi Medical Center-Pontotoc.
A graduate of North Pontotoc High School, Kitchens attended Itawamba Community College and the University of Mississippi, earning a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. She earned her medical technology certification from NMMC’s Medical Laboratory Science Program. She is certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
Kitchens has worked at NMMC since 2001. She held previous positions as a unit coordinator at NMMC-Pontotoc and as a purchasing agent at NMMC in Tupelo.
“I enjoy working behind the scenes to make a positive impact in our patients’ health care,” Kitchens said.
“Jessica is a well-rounded employee in all aspects of the lab; she demonstrates a willing spirt and is knowledgeable of all shift responsibilities and is very adaptable to the needs and responsibilities of the department,” a coworker wrote in her nomination.
She and her husband John have two sons—Alex and Knox. The family lives in Ecru and attends Greatest Mission Baptist Church in Pontotoc.
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
