Johnny Ferrell Named NMMC’s Employee of the Month
TUPELO, Miss.—Johnny Ferrell, manager of Phlebotomy for North Mississippi Medical Center’s Pathology Department, has been named NMMC’s Employee of the Month.
Ferrell has worked at NMMC since 2000. He is a graduate of Obion County High School in Troy, Tennessee, and earned a bachelor’s degree in biological science from Mississippi State University in Starkville. He has certification as a medical laboratory technician from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists’ Board of Certification.
Ferrell said the best part of his job is “knowing that I and we make a difference in the lives of our patients.”
“Johnny has great relationships with coworkers and staff,” a coworker wrote in his nomination. “He has the gift of balancing between mentoring, coaching and managing while still being courteous, respectful and professional. He builds trust with staff with fairness and honesty.”
“Johnny leads by example. He is trustworthy, dependable, hardworking and honest,” another coworker wrote of Ferrell.
Ferrell and his wife Brandi have six children—son Jonathan, age 22, and daughter-in-law Leigh Ayers Ferrell, 24; son Kaleb Malone, 19; daughter Maria Ferrell, age 17; daughter Emelia Ferrell, age 15; and daughter Cora Ferrell, 8.
The family lives in Saltillo and attends Hope Church.
