NMMC’s Family Medicine Residency Program Honors Recent Graduates

TUPELO, Miss.—The North Mississippi Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program held a graduation ceremony June 25 to honor eight graduates:

 

  • Blayne Beene, D.O., of Tupelo is joining Mainline Health System in Monticello, Arkansas. Dr. Beene received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and his medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg. He is the son of Traci and Stoney Beene of Marianna, Arkansas.Blayne Beene

 

  • Rob Dickson, D.O., of Florence, Alabama., is joining Medical Associates of Shoals in Muscle Shoals. Dr. Dickson received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. He is the son of Ken and Kathryn Webb of Lehi, Utah. He and his wife, Alisa, have six children— Isaac, Robert DixonRebekah, Ben, Abigail, Levi and Joshua.

 

  • Matthew Dowdy, D.O., of Saltillo is joining North Mississippi Medical Clinics to work in various Urgent Care clinics. Dr. Dowdy received his bachelor’s degree in biology, a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Medical Sciences from Mississippi College in Clinton. Dr. Dowdy then received his medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg. While at the Family Medicine Residency Program, he served as Academic Chief Resident. He is the son of Chuck and Sandra Dowdy of Southaven. He and his wife, Laura, have a daughter, Brooke.Matthew Dowdy

 

  • Adam Guntharp, D.O., of Tupelo is joining Friendship Medical Clinic in Ecru. Dr. Guntharp received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, and his medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg. He is the Adam Guntharpson of Keith Guntharp and Melissa Lindsey of Pontotoc.

 

  • Benjamin J. Lambert, M.D., of Tupelo is joining University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada. Dr. Lambert received his associate degree from Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, his bachelor’s degree from Delta State University in Cleveland and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He is the son of Phillip and Anne Lambert of Como. He is the husband of Whitney Lambert and father of Grayson.Benjamin Lambert

 

  • Brad Murray, M.D., of Iuka is joining North Mississippi Medical Center-Iuka and Belmont Clinic. Dr. Murray received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He is the son of Elmer and Beverly Murray of Burnsville. He and his wife, Brad MurrayAmanda, have four children-- Devin, Jaycee, Addison Sloan and Emma.

 

  • Michael Thompson, M.D., of Booneville is joining Booneville Medical Clinic. Dr. Thompson received his bachelor’s degree in biological engineering from Mississippi State University in Starkville, and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. While at the Family Medicine Residency Program, he served as Administrative Chief Resident. He is the son of Mike Thompson of Cleveland, and Sonya and Gene Gilley of Booneville. He is married to Haley Thompson. They have one son, Easton.Michael Thompson

 

  • Sam Twedt, D.O., of Belden is joining Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. Dr. Twedt received his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Mississippi State University in Starkville, and his medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Sam TwedtMedicine in Hattiesburg. He is the son of Steve and Kristen Twedt of Biloxi.
