In-Hospital or Facility Care
This group of services is for when you are not quite ready to be cared for at home.
Inpatient Hospice
NMMC-Tupelo has a 16-bed inpatient hospice unit, which provides care for patients who are at the end of life and are too fragile to transfer to home or another location.
The environment is home-like, with sofas that make into a bed, privacy blinds and a shower in each bathroom.

Inpatient Rehabilitation
After an illness, accident or surgery, all of our hospitals provide therapy services when needed to start you on the path to healing. In addition, NMMC-Tupelo offers a 28-bed Rehabilitation Institute for those who need additional time to focus on recovery.

Swing Bed
All NMMC community hospitals offer a swing bed program for patients who no longer need acute hospital care but are not yet able to return home.
"Swing bed" simply means a hospital room that can be used as needed to meet patient needs - as an acute-care hospital room or as an extended care room.

Skilled Nursing
NMMC provides short- and long-term care at several facilities. Short-term care provides individuals with skilled services for up to 100 days before you are discharged to home or elsewhere. Long-term care provides a “home” for when you need extended care.

Sometimes, you and your care team determine that it's time for you to go home, but you still need some additional support. These services will help you continue to recover while reducing the need to go back to the hospital.
Home Health
North Mississippi Medical Center Home Health offers the opportunity to receive health care in the place where you are most comfortable; right in your own home, in familiar surroundings, with family members participating in your care.

In-home provider visits are an extension of traditional in-clinic primary care services. The goal of this service is to meet the needs of our patients who have limited support systems, find it difficult to travel to a clinic, or don't feel safe leaving home.

Managing chronic diseases can be stressful and confusing. Our population health staff works in partnership with you and your providers to teach you to better manage your health conditions. We can help coordinate services across several providers, and also help you navigate from an acute hospital stay or extended skilled nursing facility stay back to your home.
