McIntosh Honored with BEE Award

TUPELO, Miss.—Unit coordinator Kaleshia McIntosh of the Behavioral Health Center recently received North Mississippi Medical Center’s BEE (Beyond Exceptional Expectations) Award for July.

She received a certificate, a BEE Award pin, a bouquet donated by Bishop’s Flower Shop and a cake.

McIntosh, who resides in Okolona, works on the Senior Care Unit. She graduated from Pontotoc High School and attended Itawamba Community College before joining the NMMC staff nine years ago.

She was nominated by a coworker for her extraordinary care of a patient who was very upset and wanted to talk with her. “She was on another unit; however, after completing her duties she came to the Senior Care Unit to talk with the patient, who was tearful and extremely afraid,” the nomination states.

The patient thanked McIntosh, saying that she felt safe after talking to her. The patient also assured McIntosh that she was vital to her team and had definitely chosen the correct career path.

The BEE Award is given to a deserving caregiver each month at NMMC. Nomination forms are available throughout NMMC or at For more information, call (662) 377-3431 or email
