NMMC-West Point Recognizes Jolly as Outstanding Employee
WEST POINT, Miss.—The staff of North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point has selected Mark Jolly, ultrasound technologist, as the most recent Employee of the Quarter.
Jolly, who lives in Ethelsville, Ala., works as a sonographer in the Radiology Department. A graduate of Pickens County High School in Reform, Ala., he earned his associate degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He is registered in general and abdominal sonography, and is a registered vascular technician.
“The best part of my job is the value involved in using the abilities God has provided me to help others,” Jolly said. “I hope to be a positive example to others to reflect the compassion and determination that coworkers have mentored to me.”
Coworkers say Jolly is friendly, dependable and always willing to lend a helping hand. “When stepping up to help a coworker with a patient, he always introduces himself to the patient,” his nomination states. “He always makes his patients feel at ease. He is the definition of a patient advocate.”
Coworkers also commended Jolly for always furthering his education and mentoring students during clinical rotations.
Jolly has served as music minister at Bethel Baptist Church in Columbus for 13 years. He also teaches online courses in criminal justice and sociology through East Mississippi Community College and Mississippi University for Women.
