When asked what she enjoyed most about her job, Hunter said the people, teamwork, and elderly and pediatric patients.
Hunter was praised by coworkers in her nomination for her compassion and unselfishness.
“If you ask any member of our team, they will tell you that Brenda is the glue that holds us together,” a coworker wrote in her nomination. “She consistently volunteers for tasks that need to be done, maintains eye contact and compassionate facial expressions with all interactions. I’m not sure what she looks like without a smile.”
“Her main priority each day is to ensure that the patient is truly cared for; whether it’s getting a blanket for someone cold, getting water for someone thirsty or paying for a much needed haircut for a patient,” another coworker wrote.
Hunter and her husband Glenn have two children—daughter Brandi Anderson and son Michael Hunter—and three grandchildren. She attends Thaxton Baptist Church and enjoys yard work and chalk painting in her spare time.
