Kenneth Fields Named NMMC’s Employee of the Month
TUPELO, Miss.—Kenneth Fields, logistics manager for North Mississippi Medical Center’s Supply, Processing and Distribution, was recently named NMMC’s Employee of the Month.
Fields has worked at NMMC for 29 years. He is a graduate of Tupelo High School, attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and earned a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Phoenix. Fields served 27 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as First Sergeant in May 2013.
“The best part of my job is knowing that doing my job impacts the lives of someone’s family member inside our hospital,” Fields said.
Coworkers noted Fields’ leadership and attention to detail in his nomination.
“Kenneth and those that work under his leadership support every unit in the hospital to insure that caregivers have everything they need to provide care to our patients,” one coworker wrote. “If there is a supply need, he responds quickly without delay. Anytime that we have a need, I hardly hang up the phone before he is in our department. He works to solve any supply issue that we encounter, which helps us provide care to our patients.”
“Kenneth quickly responds to emails and phone requests, and always keeps us informed,” another coworker said. “When you call Kenneth for help, ‘one call, that’s all’ describes him well. We never have to follow up with Kenneth because he communicates any updates or delays.”
He and his wife Gloria have one child, 21-year-old Kristina. They attend White Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where Fields serves as co-chairman of the deacon board.
