NMMC Presents BEE Award to Armstrong

TUPELO, Miss.—Catering associate Arielle Armstrong of Food and Nutrition Services recently received North Mississippi Medical Center’s BEE (Beyond Exceptional Expectations) Award for April.

Armstrong was nominated by a patient whose extensive back injury restricted her to lying flat on her back. “I was in misery,” the patient wrote. “Because I couldn’t sit up, she knew I couldn’t eat what was served. She took preferences and made recommendations of things I could eat flat on my back. She personally made a PB&J sandwich with the perfect amount of jelly so it would not drip on me. She truly cared and made me feel like a resort guest. She was better than any pain medicine I had been given.”

Armstrong was so concerned about the patient that she went to visit her on a different floor after she was transferred. “It made my day to see her,” stated the patient. “Her presence was so calming in my crisis. She was instrumental in my recovery!”

Armstrong is a 2008 graduate of Tupelo High School and joined the NMMC staff eight years ago.
