Medicare Open Enrollment Period
The Medicare Open Enrollment Period, often called the Annual Election Period (AEP), is the time when individuals can change their Medicare Advantage and/or Medicare Part D plans. The Medicare Open Enrollment Period is Oct. 15-Dec. 7. This is also the time to switch from Medicare Advantage back to original Medicare (or vice versa). Coverage begins Jan. 1, 2020.
During the Open Enrollment Period, members can return to the traditional Medicare coverage and then choose from a variety of Medicare Supplement plans. Please note that North Mississippi Health Services is out of network for Humana Medicare Advantage.

What Medicare Supplement options are accepted by NMHS?
North Mississippi Health Services accepts a long list of Medicare Supplement plans; examples of Medicare Supplement plans that are available in Mississippi can be located on the Mississippi Department of Insurance website. Please note that NMHS does not accept Humana Medicare Advantage and is considered out-of-network for this product.
Can Humana Medicare Advantage members change their plan to another policy accepted by NMHS?
Yes, during the Medicare Open Enrollment Period, members can return to the traditional Medicare coverage and then choose from a variety of Medicare Supplement plans.
