About Me
Neurological surgeon Daniel Duran, MD, earned his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Bogota, Colombia, graduating first in his class in 2013.
He served as a post-doctoral associate in genetics and genomics of neurosurgical disease at Yale University (2013-2018), followed by a residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson (2018-2025).
Dr. Duran’s clinical interests include brain tumors, open and endoscopic skull base surgery, open and minimally invasive spine surgery, and advanced navigation techniques.
He is also actively involved in academic publishing, serving as a review editor for Frontiers in Surgery since February 2023 and as an ad hoc reviewer for World Neurosurgery.
Dr. Duran will pursue a skull base fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, beginning in July 2026.
“I pursued this career because I enjoy the challenge of helping people overcome complex health challenges,” said Dr. Duran.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Duran enjoys fishing and spending time with family.
