Amit Jain, MD

Dr. Amit Jain is a hematologist-oncologist and sees patients at North Mississippi Medical Center Hematology Oncology in Tupelo and Starkville.

Dr. Jain was born and raised in India. He attended high school, completed his undergraduate studies and earned his medical degree there. After graduation, he moved to the United States initially for oncology research at the National Institutes of Health.

He then completed an internal medicine residency and a hematology-oncology fellowship program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. During his fellowship, Dr. Jain was awarded membership into the prestigious medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha.

Dr. Jain says his love for medicine began at a young age. “Growing up, my father owned a small private hospital in India, which provided me with a unique and firsthand view of the healthcare industry,” he said. “Witnessing the dedicated efforts of doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals in providing care, comfort, and relief to patients left a lasting impression on me.”
