About Me
Farris Burns, FNP-C, says that he has always had a passion for serving and caring for others. “My mother, who is a registered nurse, has been an example and inspiration to me in caring for others,” he says.
His hobbies include reading, drinking coffee, target practice, watching college football, playing video games and spending time with his wife, family and friends.
His favorite quote is 1 Corinthians 16:13-14: “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
He received his associate degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus. He completed his master’s degree in nursing family nurse practitioner specialization at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He completed the Advance Practice Clinician Fellowship at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He previously worked as a registered nurse at NMMC.
He is board certified by and a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
