Biography
Clay Cockrell, NP-C, joined Hamilton Primary Care Center in 2019, but took care of patients in Marion County for 13 years before joining our clinic.
Cockrell received his associate degree in nursing from Northwest Shoals Community College, and his bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama at Huntsville with a master’s degree in nursing and his family nurse practitioner specialization.
Cockrell moved to Alabama after his father retired from military service in the late 1990s. “I always knew I wanted to do something in medicine,” he says. “I have always been fascinated with the science and puzzle of it all, and I wanted to help people.”
In his free time, he enjoys being outside and spending time with his children – kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hunting or playing ball. His family also has four rescue dogs.
