Senior Intensive Outpatient Program

The emotions and stress associated with retirement, changes in finances, loss of loved ones, loneliness and even the physical changes associated with growing older can be overwhelming.

For many, aging can present life changes that are often impossible to overcome alone. In some cases, the stress of growing older can actually overwhelm and disable a person, preventing the performance of even the simplest task. Often seniors responding to these stressors with depression or anxiety are labeled “senile” or “just old.” In times like this, the North Mississippi Medical Center-Pontotoc Senior Intensive Outpatient Program can help.

NMMC-Pontotoc Senior Intensive Outpatient Program provides therapeutic groups that allow patients an opportunity to explore and identify positive coping skills in an effort to improve their emotional and mental well-being.

Pontotoc IOP 1We also provide free transportation within a 30-mile radius to our patients who have no means to attend our program. Transportation is provided by trained drivers in wheelchair accessible vans.
