IUKA, Mississippi—North Mississippi Medical Center-Iuka’s cardiac rehabilitation program has earned certification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). 

The program combines exercise, education, counseling and support to help people manage their heart health, particularly while recovering from a heart attack or coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Support also extends to patients’ families.

To earn certification, NMMC-Iuka submitted extensive documentation of the program’s practices. AACVPR’s review assesses adherence to standards and guidelines developed by the association and other professional organizations and includes measures of patient outcomes.

Applications are reviewed by the AACVPR Program Certification Committee, with certification awarded by the AACVPR Board of Directors. Certification is valid for three years.
