TUPELO, Mississippi—Brandi Jo Lambert, DNP, has joined North Mississippi Medical Center’s Heart and Vascular Institute as a nurse practitioner in the Chest Pain Center.

Most patients stay in NMMC's Chest Pain Center for less than 12 hours. That's enough time for observation without the cost of a hospital admission. The unit is open around the clock, so patients can be evaluated quickly and, if needed, continue their care.

Lambert, who has been a nurse practitioner for more than 20 years, earned her master’s degree in nursing and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Vanderbilt University. She is certified as both a family nurse practitioner and an adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner.

Lambert is a 1994 graduate of Booneville High School and completed her bachelor’s degree in health sciences at Baptist Health Science University in 1999.

When her father asked what she wanted to do for a living, Lambert told him she wanted either “to help people who needed care or to draw for Disney.” He encouraged her to pursue a medical career.

She began as a radiologic technologist before finding her calling in nursing. “I wouldn’t change a thing,” Lambert says. “He was definitely right.”

Outside of work, Lambert enjoys spending time at home with her family, hiking, walking, watching college football and traveling to new places.

She and her husband, Trey, a Methodist pastor, have one daughter, Gracy.
