Imagine being a vibrant 15-year-old, full of energy and dreams, only to have your world turned upside down by a mysterious condition that causes you to faint multiple times a week. 

This was the reality for Claudia Blaylock, when she was in 10th grade at Tupelo High School. She began passing out two or three times a week, regardless of where she was—at school, in the shower or even at church. Any time she stood up, she would immediately faint. This alarming situation led her and her family to seek answers from Dr. Brad Crosswhite, a primary care doctor at IMA-Tupelo. 

“From the very first appointment, Dr. Crosswhite was incredibly welcoming and kind,” Claudia says. “He made sure we understood what was happening and reassured us that everything would be okay.” 

His approach was not just about treating Claudia's symptoms but also about making the family feel safe and informed.

Every time Claudia performed with the THS Madrigals choir, she had to bring a stool because she would start to feel faint. This not only disrupted the performance but also made her feel self-conscious. However, since being under Dr. Crosswhite's care, Claudia no longer needs the stool. She can stand and perform with confidence, knowing that her condition is being managed effectively.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Dr. Crosswhite's care was his patience and thoroughness during their appointments. 

“My mother was always prepared with a full list of like 25 questions or more,” Claudia says. “Dr. Crosswhite took the time to go through each one, ensuring that we understood everything and felt comfortable with the treatment plan.” 

His dedication to answering her questions and addressing concerns made a world of difference for Claudia’s parents who were worried about their child. 

Reflecting on her experience, Claudia said, "Dr. Crosswhite was so nice about it. He was very welcoming, and he made sure my parents and I knew exactly what was happening, and that I'd be okay."

Dr. Crosswhite's compassionate care extended beyond just medical treatment. He made Claudia and her family feel like they were his top priority, and his reassurance was a source of immense comfort during a challenging time. His ability to connect with his patients and their families on a personal level is truly exceptional.

Today, Claudia and her family are grateful for the care and support they received from Dr. Crosswhite. His expertise and kindness have allowed Claudia to continue doing the things she loves without fear. The Blaylock family will always be thankful for his dedication to Claudia's health and well-being.
