Giving Tuesday

Summary

As the holiday season begins, we’re often reminded of the joy of giving—whether it’s through gift-giving, spending time with loved ones, or supporting causes that are close to our hearts.

What is Giving Tuesday?

Amid the flurry of Black Friday deals and Cyber Monday shopping sprees, there’s a global movement that calls us to pause and think about the impact of our generosity: #GivingTuesday. This year HCF is making a call to the community to support our mission through our own #GivingTuesday campaign. When you choose to give a gift to HCF, the ripples of your generosity can travel throughout the entire year to help local patients in our community.

#GivingTuesday, which falls on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is a global day dedicated to charitable giving. It was created in 2012 as a way to counterbalance the commercialization of the holiday season. Instead of focusing on shopping, #GivingTuesday encourages individuals to contribute to causes that matter—whether through donations of money, time, or resources. By making a gift to HCF this holiday season, patients will be able to receive medications, rides to treatment, and anything else they made need to assist them during life’s most unexpected circumstances. What makes #GivingTuesday so powerful is the collective impact of people coming together to give back.

How Can You Participate?

Here are some simple yet impactful ways to get involved:

  • Make a Donation: Make a gift at https://nmhsfoundation.org/how-can-i-give/ to help meet the needs of patients in our local community.
  • Volunteer Your Time: If you have time to give, whether it's one hour or more, it can be incredibly impactful. Join us at one of our fundraising events throughout the year to help support our mission.
  • Raise Awareness: Use your social media platforms to spread the word about HCF’s mission and #GivingTuesday.

The Ripple Effect of Giving

While #GivingTuesday is a special day to rally together and support charitable causes, the impact can extend far beyond just one day. Whether you're contributing financially, volunteering your time, or simply spreading awareness, you can make a difference in the health and wellness of our neighbors by supporting HCF through your generosity. As we head into the holiday season, let’s remember that the best gifts are not always the ones wrapped in paper. Sometimes, the most meaningful gifts are those that make the world a little brighter for those who need it most. After all, when we give, we recieve.
