Uzair Hamid, MD
About Me
Dr. Uzair Hamid completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology with an emphasis on epilepsy at the University of Toledo in Ohio. He is specially trained in electroencephalography (EEG), a diagnostic test that records the electrical activity of the brain, and electromyography, a diagnostic test that measures the electrical activity of muscles.
“I’ve always loved a good puzzle, and the nervous system is basically the ultimate one,” Dr. Hamid says. “Neurology lets me combine detective work with actually helping people.”
Dr. Hamid earned his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Pakistan in 2017 and completed residency training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria in 2025. He is board-eligible in neurology and clinical neurophysiology.
Outside of work, Dr. Hamid enjoys “hunting down the next great restaurant or café, planning road trips and falling down instructional video rabbit holes at 11 p.m.,” he said. “I also enjoy learning about wherever I’m living, mostly so I can pretend I’m a local within a week.”
Dr. Hamid also enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter.
