Alexis Derie Lee, FNP

Alexis Lee, FNP-BC, began her nursing career as a certified nursing assistant, inspired by her mother, who was a nurse. “I quickly discovered my passion for caring for others,” she says.

 
She became a registered nurse in 2016 after earning an associate degree in nursing from Holmes Community College in Grenada. “This role allowed me to deepen my clinical knowledge and strengthen my commitment to patient care,” she says. “After seven years as an RN, I realized I wanted to further expand my ability to make a meaningful impact in the lives of my patients. This led me to pursue my master’s degree in nursing and become a family nurse practitioner.”

She completed her education and training in May 2025 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. 
 

Outside of work, Alexis enjoys watching Alabama baseball and football, boating and spending time on the water with her family. “One of my favorite things is watching my kids wakeboard,” she said. “Whether it’s a quick trip to the lake or a week at the beach, anything involving the water is always a yes for me.”
 

She also loves to travel. “I usually have at least three trips planned each year. Mardi Gras is one of my favorite annual traditions,” she says. “When I’m at home relaxing, I enjoy binge-watching a good crime or drama series.”

Alexis and her partner have five children—four sons and one daughter. “We are excited to be welcoming our first grandchild, a granddaughter, in October,” she said. “We also have a few pets, including a dog, cat and bearded dragon, who keep our household wild and full of life.”
