Stephen Robert Southworth, MD

Dr. Steve Southworth specializes in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of hip and knee osteoarthritis. He specializes in fracture care, total hip replacement, knee replacement and ankle replacement. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.

He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Southworth serves as chairman of North Mississippi Health Services' Institutional Review Board and as research medical director for NMHS' Physician Leadership Institute.

He served in the U.S. Army, where he earned the U.S. Army Commendation Medal (El Salvador and Peru). At NMHS, he was named Acute Rehabilitation Physician of the Year (2004) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Evidence Based Leader (2012).

Outside of work, he enjoys bicycling and being a commercial pilot.
