TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Health Services welcomes Dr. Kimberly Sullivan, a maternal fetal medicine specialist who provides high-risk pregnancy care.

A high-risk pregnancy is one where a condition increases the risk of complications for the mother, baby or both during or after birth. A woman’s OB-GYN may refer her to a maternal fetal medicine specialist for many reasons—including managing multiple gestations (complex twins, triplets or more); monitoring preeclampsia or incompetent cervix; counseling for age-related risks, screening for Down syndrome and other issues.

Dr. Sullivan joins Dr. Justin Brewer at Maternal Fetal Medicine with locations in Tupelo and Amory. North Mississippi Health Services is the only provider offering these services in north Mississippi.

“I am passionate about women's health and supporting women through their pregnancies,” Dr. Sullivan said. “It’s a privilege to walk beside mothers during such a meaningful and sometimes challenging time in their lives. Helping them feel safe, supported and confident as they navigate their pregnancy is both humbling and rewarding.”

Maternal Fetal Medicine in Tupelo is located inside North Mississippi Medical Center Women’s Hospital and available at (662) 377-4989.

The Amory clinic is located inside North Mississippi Medical Center Gilmore-Amory and available at (662) 257-2330.

A Mississippi native, Dr. Sullivan graduated from Mize Attendance Center in 2008 and William Carey University in 2012.

She earned her medical degree in 2017 from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. She completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in maternal fetal medicine, both at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr. Sullivan holds a master’s degree in clinical investigation from UMMC and is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

“What I look forward to most in my career with North Mississippi Health Services is the opportunity to connect with patients and their families—especially those facing high-risk pregnancies,” Dr. Sullivan said. “I want to provide compassionate, skilled care close to home, where access can make all the difference. Being able to support women through such a critical time, offer reassurance and help bring healthy babies into the world is an honor I’m deeply grateful for.”

She and her husband, Dr. Lee Sullivan, an orthopedic spine surgeon at Specialty Orthopedic Group, have three young children—Adeline, Emma and Michael. She is the daughter of Tony and Nannette Simmons of Mize.

Outside of work, Dr. Sullivan enjoys “traveling, drinking a great cup of coffee, biking, hiking and spending time outdoors with my little ones.”
