OXFORD, Miss. – North Mississippi Health Services is pleased to welcome Dr. Shaun L. Helmhout to Oxford Medical Clinic. Dr. Helmhout brings more than two decades of experience in family medicine along with a passion for building long-term relationships with patients and their families.

Dr. Helmhout completed her medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis. She later finished her family medicine residency at St. Francis Family Medicine Residency in Memphis.

“I am excited to welcome Dr. Helmhout to our growing team,” said David Barber, president of North Mississippi Medical Clinics. “Her dedication to patient care and her commitment to treating every individual with compassion makes her an excellent addition to our organization.”

“I chose a career in health care because I have a genuine desire to help people and a strong interest in science,” said Dr. Helmhout. “What I’m most looking forward to is seeing my patients and continuing to provide high-quality primary care to the Oxford community.”

In her spare time, Dr. Helmhout enjoys needlepoint, cooking with her husband and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Ron, have two children, Wilson and Ted, and a son-in-law, Andrew.
