NMMC Gilmore-Amory Achieves Elite National Status as a Straight ‘A’ For Patient Safety
NMMC Gilmore-Amory earns 14th straight ‘A’ from Leapfrog for patient safety, ranking among top 13% of U.S. hospitals for high-quality care.AMORY, Miss. – North Mississippi Medical Center Gilmore-Amory earned an “A” for the 14th consecutive time by the The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety.
This designates NMMC Gilmore-Amory as a “Straight A” hospital, defined as hospitals that have an A for fall 2025 and have sustained that grade for the last five or more grading rounds. This select group represents less than 13% of all eligible hospitals.
“This ‘A’ grade reflects our promise to deliver safe, high-quality care that’s close to home,” said Jamie Rodgers, administrator for NMMC Gilmore-Amory. “It’s a testament to the dedication of every teammate to put our community’s health first.”
Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
“My sincere congratulations to NMMC Gilmore-Amory for upholding patient safety standards through thick and thin, achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade for 14 consecutive rounds of the Safety Grade,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “Consistently earning an A demonstrates a long-term, organization-wide commitment to putting patient safety first.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
