TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Urogynecology recently expanded services and welcomed two new team members: nurse practitioner Kathyrn Smith Hilbert, DNP, FNP-C, and pelvic floor therapist Heather Holland, OTR/L, UDN-C.

Located at 205 E. Troy St. in the Fairpark District of downtown Tupelo, North Mississippi Urogynecology provides specialized care for women experiencing overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, bladder pain, bowel control issues, vaginal atrophy and other complex pelvic floor disorders. To request an appointment, call (662) 377-1885.

Hilbert and Holland join Dr. Elizabeth Tarsi, a board-certified OB-GYN with advanced training in the diagnosis, evaluation and management of pelvic floor conditions.

Kathyrn Smith Hilbert DNP FNP-C

Hilbert earned her associate degree in nursing from Itawamba Community College in 2014 and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 2015.

Hilbert completed her master’s degree in nursing and nurse practitioner training at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2018. She completed North Mississippi Health Services’ Advanced Practice Clinician Fellowship before attaining her doctoral degree in nursing at Samford University in 2021.

“As a little girl, I would accompany my father when he would do hospice chaplain visits. He would talk and pray with patients, and I would sing a song,” Hilbert said. “I always wished that I could do more during that time to help comfort them. This cultivated my interest and passion to help others. I love helping people and making a positive lasting impact on their health. I can't imagine doing anything else. Health care is my calling and purpose.”

She and her husband, Macolm, have a daughter, Emberly Kathyrn. Outside of work, Hilbert serves with her church’s health ministry and enjoys beach trips, reading and spending time with family.

Heather Holland

Holland earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and completed a master’s degree in occupational therapy at Alabama State University in 2017. She is certified in dry needling and has extensive experience in pelvic floor therapy.

“For me, health care is not just about treating symptoms, but it's about restoring independence, dignity and confidence,” Holland said. “More specifically, I chose pelvic health occupational therapy because it's the area of health care that is often overlooked, yet it impacts the most basic and meaningful parts of daily life—going to the bathroom without pain, returning to intimacy, caring for children or simply being able to move without fear.”

Outside of work, Holland enjoys reading, traveling and chasing her toddler, along with an occasional “actual” workout.
