Dr. Hamid joins the team of neurologists and nurse practitioners at Neurology Consultants of North Mississippi, located in Longtown Medical Park, 4381 S. Eason Blvd., Suite 301. For an appointment, call (662) 377-3008 or 1-800-THE DESK (1-800-843-3375).
Dr. Hamid recently completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology with an emphasis on epilepsy at the University of Toledo in Ohio. He is specially trained in electroencephalography (EEG), a diagnostic test that records the electrical activity of the brain, and electromyography, a diagnostic test that measures the electrical activity of muscles.
“I’ve always loved a good puzzle, and the nervous system is basically the ultimate one,” Dr. Hamid said. “Neurology lets me combine detective work with actually helping people.”
Dr. Hamid completed residency training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria in 2025 and is board-eligible in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. He earned his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Pakistan in 2017.Outside of work, Dr. Hamid enjoys “hunting down the next great restaurant or café, planning road trips and falling down instructional video rabbit holes at 11 p.m.,” he said. “I also enjoy learning about wherever I’m living, mostly so I can pretend I’m a local within a week.”
Dr. Hamid and his wife recently welcomed their first child, “so ‘spare time’ now mostly means diaper changes and negotiating with someone who can’t yet speak but has very strong opinions. It’s exhausting, hilarious and the best kind of chaos.”
