WEST POINT, Miss. — Agatha Louise Berryhill Stewart, MD, has joined North Mississippi Health Services and is caring for patients at The Women’s Group-West Point.

As a obstetrician, Dr. Stewart is passionate about serving women and families in rural communities. She is excited to return home to Mississippi to care for the community that helped shape her. “I chose a career in health care because I saw a need to help my neighbors around me, especially the women and families of rural Mississippi,” Dr. Stewart said.

Dr. Stewart earned an associate degree from East Central Community College in Decatur before completing a bachelor’s degree at the University of Southern Mississippi. She earned her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.

She completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Arkansas School for Medicine West in Fort Smith, followed by a fellowship in obstetrics at UAB Medicine Huntsville, Alabama.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, playing board games, gardening and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Stephen, share the memory of their late daughter, Evelyn, and enjoy life with their dog, Annie.
