NMMC to Host Mentorship Academy for Students

Mentorship Academy artTUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Medical Center is hosting a Mentorship Academy beginning March 1, 2022, for high school students interested in nursing or other health careers.

Mentorship Academy will meet from 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays for six weeks (skipping Spring Break). Students will also be required to complete a two-hour shadowing session each week.

Following successful completion of the Mentorship Academy, each participant will receive certified nursing assistant training June 6-24, 2022, at Itawamba Community College’s Belden campus.

Interested students should send a completed application packet to by February 4, 2022. Applications are available in high school guidance offices or at Along with their application, students are required to submit their high school transcript, a 250-word essay, letters of recommendation and their ACT score if taken (not required). Interviews will be conducted February 8, 9, and 10.
