RSV is the leading cause of hospitalization for infants during their first year of life. Babies born prematurely or with health issues are at even higher risk of becoming infected.

While RSV is a very common “cold” for adults, it can be severe for young babies. It can lead to conditions like bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lung) or pneumonia.
