TUPELO, Miss.—North Mississippi Health Services now offers in-home wound provider services for patients in Lee, Chickasaw and Pontotoc counties who have wounds that are slow or difficult to heal.

Proper wound care is especially important for people with diabetes, poor circulation or other conditions that can make healing more difficult. Anyone whose wound has not started to heal within two weeks or has not completely healed within six weeks may benefit from specialized wound care.

Nurse practitioner Raelynne Terry, FNP-C, offers in-home wound evaluation and treatment for eligible patients.

Terry is a 2008 graduate of South Pontotoc High School and earned her associate degree in nursing from Itawamba Community College. She joined the North Mississippi Health Services Home Health team in 2011 and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 2013. 

She has spent her entire career with NMHS, including 13 years providing home health services.

Terry recently completed her master’s degree and nurse practitioner training at Arkansas State University and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

“Being part of someone's medical journey is deeply fulfilling and motivating,” Terry said. “I find myself drawn to helping others.”

She and her husband, Ryan, have three children—Sammy Laine, Kendalynne (“KK”) and Rook. 

Outside of work, she stays busy with her family’s athletic and rodeo endeavors. “We farm and enjoy anything outdoors,” she said. “I like hunting, fishing, horses and my gym time.”
