Hill Named to National Leadership Council

Kelli HillTUPELO, Mississippi-- Kelli Hill, manager of Clinical Documentation Integrity for North Mississippi Health Services, has been named to the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) Leadership Council.

Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) is incredibly important as regulators and insurance companies review medical records to ensure quality and safety standards are met and to confirm billed charges match the care delivered. Clinical documentation specialists (CDS) are nurses who work with physicians to ensure all medical record documentation is complete and accurate. Hill leads the CDS staff throughout North Mississippi Health Services hospitals.

“I am grateful to be surrounded by a great team and have great support from physician and hospital leadership,” Hill said.

Hill earned her associate degree in nursing from Northeast Mississippi Community College in 2009 and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 2014.  She began her career working as an emergency and medical-surgical nurse before transitioning to case management in 2012.

Hill’s journey in documentation improvement began in 2014 when she helped to implement a successful CDI program at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth while serving as the Case Management Department supervisor. She became certified by the American Case Management Association in 2017 and joined the NMHS staff in October 2019. She earned her Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) credentials in 2020. She also spearheaded the team which established the inaugural NMHS Physician Advisor Panel.

Hill is trained in LEAN processes and has served on multiple Process and Quality Improvement teams. She enjoys working with the entire health care team including physicians, coders, nursing, administration and post-acute care providers. She loves to learn new things and help lead people to be their best.

She and her husband, Shawn, live in Ripley with their sons, Rhett and Hawk. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her extended family, playing cards and board games, and traveling.
