North Mississippi Medical Center Names New Associate Chief Nurse Executive 

Kristen LongTUPELO, Mississippi – North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo is proud to announce that Kristen Long, DNP, RN, was recently named Associate Chief Nurse Executive.

Long joined NMMC as a staff nurse in 2006. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of North Alabama in Florence, her master’s degree in nursing from University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and her doctorate in nursing from Samford University in Birmingham.

Long has served in various leadership roles throughout her career with NMHS including Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Manager, Interim Hospitalist Program Director, Director of Inpatient Surgical and Resource Nursing and Senior Director of Medical, Surgical and Resource Nursing.

“Kristen brings a wealth of knowledge, passion and connections to her new role. Kristen began serving as our Interim Chief Nurse Executive role in September of 2021 and exemplified what it means to be a nursing leader as she managed staffing challenges and strengthened nursing operations throughout the pandemic,” said T.J. Adams, administrator and vice president, Cardiovascular and Surgical Services, NMMC-Tupelo.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity to continue working with an amazing team and look forward to helping our organization reach new goals,” said Long.

 In her new role, Long will serve alongside NMMC-Tupelo’s new Chief Nurse Executive, Angie Lambert.
