Summary

From viewing your care team and medications to tracking test results, completing education, and sharing updates with loved ones, these features are designed to support you every step of the way.

Inpatient App Features You’ll Want to Access

If you’ve been admitted into one of our hospitals, your MyChart application will automatically update to provide you with a hospital stay dashboard. This dashboard includes several features you’ll want to access to help you be more informed during your hospital stay.

Your hospital stay dashboard includes a general overview of your inpatient profile, which includes your photo and reasons for being admitted.

Your Care Team

You can view and message different members of your care team. Your care team is updated frequently during your stay to reflect shift changes and the teams of providers collaborating on your care. By clicking on a member of your care team, you can send messages and view their provider profile. By accessing the “Notes from Care Team,” menu option, you can view their notes on your progression while in the hospital.

Medications

Hospital stays can impact medicine routines, with some medicines being added or taken away while treating your condition. Your hospital stay dashboard groups medicines in two different ways for you to better understand your care. It offers a timeline that shows the medicines you’ll take at different times of the day. The main menu within the dashboard also houses a comprehensive list of medications for you to view. Remember, while admitted as an inpatient, all medicines will be administered by your care teams.

Test Results

You can also track test results in your hospital stay dashboard. Any lab or imaging tests you’ve received during your hospital stay will automatically be listed in your dashboard. If you need help interpreting results or have questions about any of the tests being administered during your stay, ask your care team and they will provide guidance.

Questionnaires and Documents

Some hospital stays require that patients complete questionnaires or documents relative to their conditions or treatments. If any documents or questionnaires are needed by you, you can proactively sign or complete them by navigating to either the “Questionnaires,” or “Documents,” tabs on your main menu. If you have questions, please ask your care team.

Education

Navigating health care can be challenging, especially when new medicines, conditions or equipment are introduced during your hospital stay. Your care team will assign personalized education pieces in your hospital dashboard relative to your condition and treatment. Here, you can acknowledge learning and ask questions if needed to better understand the care you’re being given and ways to manage it.

Family & Friend Updates

We consider our patients, their family members and friends as important parts of our care team. In your hospital stay dashboard, you’re able to provide feedback relative to your condition or hospital stay under the Friends & Family Updates menu option. We encourage you and your loved ones to use this feature to track important updates, milestones and areas of concern. These updates will go directly to your care team and may inform decisions in your care.

Your hospital stay dashboard will automatically update as your care team adds information to your chart. If at any point during your hospital stay you have questions about the information you see – like medical terminology, your diagnosis, or care plan – ask a member of your care team, and they’ll be able to help.

Once discharged from the hospital, you will no longer have access to your inpatient dashboard. Information from this dashboard will still be available in the regular MyChart app.
